Cheesy Focaccia
Ingredients
¾ Cup Milk
1 Tbl Yeast
1 tsp Salt
3 Tbl Sugar
3 Tbl Oil
2-2 ½ Cups Flour
Olive Oil for Brushing
¼ Cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese
Optional
Herbs (Dried Parsley, Oregano, Rosemary, etc.)
Minced Garlic
Dipping
Tomato Sauce

Instructions

Heat milk in saucepan or microwave until lukewarm. If using microwave, heat for 30 seconds.

In a medium bowl, combine milk, yeast, sugar, salt, and oil. Let it stand for 5 minutes ir until foam begins to form from the yeast.

Optional: Add dried herbs to mixture before adding flour.

Add flour ½ cup at a time until the dough can be handled. You will likely use 2 cups of flour.

On a lighly floured surface knead dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. You will use the remaining ¼- ½ cup of flour during this process.

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for at least 1 hour, or overnight.

Once dough has risen, punch it down. Divide into 2-4 pieces depending on how large the flatbread will be.

Roll dough out thin into a circle, square, or rectangle. Place breads on a baking pan.

Brush doughs with olive oil before baking.

Bake flatbreads at 375 degrees for 10-12minutes.

Sprinkle Parmesan and Mozzarella Cheese onto flatbreads. Divide evenly among the flatbreads. Add any garlic or other herbs on top is desired.

Place in oven again at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted. To brown the cheese, top down broil the flatbread 500 Degrees for 2 minutes. Watch to make sure it does not burn.
